I welcome you all to the 2013 Annual General Meeting here in the MCC Committee Room again by kind permission of the MCC Secretary. This time last year we looked forward to a summer of good weather and enjoyable matches. Sadly that expectation was never realised as the Gods were firmly against us in 2012 but not all was lost as you shall hear from the Cricket sub-Committee later.

Stragglers of Asia Cricket Club
The Stragglers of Asia was founded in 1925, by a group of expats and Army officers living in India looking to play cricket in the UK when home on leave. Originally, members were required to have lived 'East of Suez' for two years to be eligible to join. The Stragglers try to arrange a major out of season tour abroad roughly every three years with minor tours within Europe in most intervening years. more...

I welcome you all to the 2011 Annual General Meeting in that holy of holies – the MCC Committee Room by kind permission of the MCC Secretary. And at what a time we meet: England have not only retained the Ashes but are on the brink of humiliating Australia in the process of a third innings victory and series win. It augurs well for the 2011 season and I am delighted to record that Stragglers’ planning is well advanced.
