New Year’s Message from the Chairman
CHAIRMAN’S NEW YEAR MESSAGE
Ring out the Old – Hail the New – the Promise of a glorious summer beckons.
I hope that you all had an enjoyable Christmas and New Year; that this finds you hale and hearty and eagerly looking forward to the potential of cricket in 2015. The ODI World Cup in March will be a must: how will England perform under “new management” , the last opportunity to watch MS Dhoni, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene on the World stage makes an excellent lead into our Season.
The Committee has been working hard on your behalf and the Club is more solidly found as a result. The 2015 Season looks new and exciting – the Cricket Sub Committee has shaken up the Fixture List in response to the Lessons Learnt from the 2014 Season: some long standing matches have been dropped or moved, some start times have been adjusted to take account of today’s lifestyle, and work continues to make the Club website even more Fit For Purpose.
I draw your attention to the circulated “Questionnaire” on the website and strongly encourage all Members to respond as your views really do inform the Committee’s ongoing work.
I urge you all to keep visiting the website ready to apply for matches once the Fixture List goes live; an early commitment helps Match Managers enormously.
I look forward to seeing you at the the Club AGM at Lords on 20th March at 7pm.
A very happy, healthy and successful New year
