Sadly the poor weather last weekend meant that the Stragglers’ opening match of the season against Middleton Stoney had to be called off due to a wet pitch. Worse still, we have just been informed by Ascott Park that the square has been under water for several days and that this has hampered preparation of the square and so this Sunday’s game against the Cryptics has also had to be called off.
However, match managers are eagerly recruiting for matches later in the season so, if you have been thwarted by the weather, there are plenty of opportunities for other Stragglers games.
