I was half way there as we have a pre-season pint before the game when I heard it was called off (just after 12 pm) and phoned people in cars and who were just leaving. We were very lucky Eyre managed to phone the umps who doesn’t have a mobile.
As the game was called off due to expected rain (and it was wet too) the decision could have been made very much earlier. In fact, I bet it was.
