The weather reports had been wrong all week, but we were scuppered early on the morning of the game as we woke to solid rain. The Ascott Estate called the game off at 7am and the frantic phone calls to players, umpires and scorers began.
While it was the correct call (the ground was soaking all weekend) the players were disappointed as the game against the IZ is always one of the highlights of our season – and we had a cracking team!
